Like all too often only she can, The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway debunked the media and Democrat narrative that firing Lt. Col. Alex Vindman was somehow a controversial move for the Trump White House.
Having anointed him a hero for his role in their most recent attempt to undo the 2016 election, the media have long insinuated that anyone who harbors anything but absolute adoration for Vindman is clearly a bad American and more likely a Russian asset.
This, of course, is ridiculous.
As most of us already know, it was Vindman who leaked the details of President Trump’s phone call with Ukrainian President Zelensky to the so-called whistleblower, Eric Ciaramella.
And the rest is history: After coordinating with Adam Schiff’s office over how to leak the information and weaponize it against President Trump, Ciaramella was instructed to make the information public by using whistleblower levers. He did, some more shadiness happened to allow for his second-hand information to be considered whistleblower testimony, Trump ruined their entire plot by releasing the transcript of the call in its entirety, the media and Democrats pretended that never happened and finished their staged takedown as originally planned, the House impeached him, the Senate acquitted him, and our nation lost 6 months down yet another rabbit hole of the media and Democrats’ making in a bad faith effort to take down Trump and disenfranchise the 63,000,000 Americans who voted for him.
And when it was all over President Trump exercised his right to clean the White House of the bad actors who serve at his pleasure and used their roles instead to try to take him down.
And the media and Democrats, as they do in response to literally anything the man does, insisted that the sky was falling and Trump’s were the actions of a dictatorial madman hellbent on nothing more than trampling the Constitution and anyone who impedes his path to total world domination for him and his evil children.
Mollie Hemingway explained away the rank absurdity of that position.
She’s one of the best in the business.
And while I don’t know what’s in her heart, my impression is that she’s more of a Trump defender than a supporter. And I think the defense she so often offers is predicated not on political partisanship, but an appreciation for intellectual honesty and fairness. She doesn’t claim to be a “straight news” media figure, and she has a long track record of supporting conservative and conservatarian interests. But at a time when the media and their Democrat allies refuse to afford President Trump and his supporters even a shred of fairness, good faith or intellectual honesty — you won’t find a more effective foil to their constantly hysterical antics than Mollie Hemingway.
She is to grounding beltway snobbery and fighting corporate media bias what President Trump is to draining the swamp and putting America First: The best.
